Based on DCEP “Zarya” JSC, there are two diagnostic laboratories with a wide range of activities:
1. Testing and Research Laboratory for General Metallurgy (TRLGM)
Provides tests and studies of metals, alloys, welding materials and welded joints (seams) in four functional areas:
✔ physical and mechanical (strength) and processing characteristics;
✔ metallographic (structural) properties;
✔ corrosion resistance;
✔ rapid test of the chemical composition for brand compliance.
The equipment status of the laboratory, proficiency and professional competence of the staff ensure integrated assessment of the quality indicators for a specific metal product — base metal, welding materials and welded joints (products), including bimetal products, obtained by surfacing, explosion welding and other methods.
The assigned tests are conducted in accordance with the Engineering documentation requirements with regard to testing and certification in Rosstandart and Rostekhnadzor systems.
Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory (NDTL)
Non-destructive testing is an integral part of an industrial safety expert review. Applicable during manufacture, installation, repair and retrofitting of facilities. Includes:
✔ visual and measuring inspection;
✔ radiation (X-ray) inspection;
✔ ultrasonic flaw detection;
✔ ultrasonic thickness measurement;
✔ ultrasonic thickness measurement;
✔ hydraulic tests for durability and tightness.
Quality, competitiveness of products manufactured and, accordingly, successful operation of an enterprise as a whole — they all depend on the equipment status of the company’s own diagnostic (test) base. Technically equipped laboratories are a genuine indicator of prosperity of any company.
DCEP “Zarya” JSC has all the resources and offers single and comprehensive tests of metal products to third-party companies.
TRLGM TECHNICAL RESOURCES WITH REGARD TO METAL PRODUCTS TESTING
I. Comprehensive testing, control and studies of the original base metal, welding materials and welded joints — during incoming control, production, certification of welders and welding methods, including:
1.1. Physical, mechanical (strength) and proof tests — on control samples:
1.1.1 Static tension (rupture);
1.1.2. Static bending (bending angle);
1.1.3. Flattening, flaring, bending (for pipes);
1.1.4. Impact bending — impact strength at normal and low (down to -70°C) temperatures;
1.1.5. Mechanical aging tendency — impact strength after mechanical aging;
1.1.6. Shear resistance, peel resistance, base and cladding layer ductility, bond strength between layers for two-ply steels and alloys;
1.1.7 Brinell hardness;
1.1.8 Rockwell hardness.
1.2.Spectral (steeloscopic) - chemical composition marking analysis: “non-destructive testing” — analysis of steels, welding materials and weld metal (seams) of welded joints for alloying elements – chromium, nickel, titanium, molybdenum, manganese, vanadium, niobium, tungsten, silicon, copper, etc. — on control samples and finished products.
1.3. Metallographic (structural) studies:
1.3.3. Ferritic (alpha) phase in austenitic steels and alloys — “non-destructive testing”, on control samples and finished products.
1.4. Corrosion tests:
1.4.1. Intergranular corrosion resistance (IGC);
1.4.2. Other corrosion tests subject to provision of Regulatory documentation for testing and availability of the corresponding test equipment.
1.5. X-ray fluorescence analysis — “non-destructive testing”:
Rapid test of the chemical (elemental) composition and brand compliance of metal products (metals, steels and alloys) — base metal, welding materials and welded joints (seams) — on control samples and single-piece products.
II. TRLGM Certification:
2.1. In 2018, TRLGM successfully passed another metrological certification for technical competence at the Federal Budgetary Institution State Regional Centre for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Nizhny Novgorod Region — FBU “Nizhegorodsky CSM”, in accordance with the requirements of the interstate standard GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009 “General competence requirements to testing and calibration laboratories”, and the Recommendations of the State System for Ensuring Uniformity of Measurements MI 2427-2016 “Assessment of the State of Measurements in Testing and Measuring Laboratories and Laboratories for Production and Analytical Control”:
