HEAT EXCHANGE EQUIPMENT

Shell-and-tube heat exchangers are used in oil, petrochemical, chemical, gas and other industries for heating, cooling, condensation and evaporation of liquids, steam and their mixtures.

By purpose, shell-and-tube heat exchangers are classified as heat exchangers (H), refrigerators (R), condensers (C) and evaporators (E); by design — as devices with fixed tube plates (type F), with a temperature compensator on the shell (type CS), with a floating head (type FH) and with U-shaped pipes (type U).

Heat exchangers are designed for heating and cooling various media with the temperature of the heat exchanging media from -30 to +350oC (TN and TK types), and from -30 to +450oC (TP and TU types);

refrigerators – for cooling various liquid or gaseous media using fresh water, sea water or refrigerants with the temperature of the medium being cooled in the shell from 0 to +300oC (RN and RK types) and from 0 to +400oC (RP type), and the temperature of the cooling medium in the pipes from -20 to +60oC;

condensers – for condensing and cooling gaseous media using fresh water, sea water or other refrigerants with the temperature of the medium being condensed in the shell from 0 to +300oC (CN and CK types) and from 0 to +400oC (CP type), and the temperature of the cooling medium in the pipes from -20 to +60oC;

evaporators – for heating and evaporating various liquid media with the temperature of the media being heated and evaporated from -30 to +350oC (EN and EK types) and from -30 to +450oC (EP and EU types);

refrigeration condensers (CT type) – for liquefying refrigerant in ammonia and hydrocarbon (propane, propylene) general industrial purpose refrigeration units operating within the temperature range of the refrigerant being condensed from 0 to +100oC, at the cooling medium temperature from -40 to +50oC;

refrigeration evaporators (ET type) – for cooling water and solutions with pressure up to 0.6 MPa (6 kgf/cm2) in ammonia and hydrocarbon (propane, propylene) general industrial purpose refrigeration units operating within saturation temperatures from +40 to -40oC; liquid processing media with pressure of 1-2.5 MPa (10-25 kgf/cm2) in units operating within saturation range from +40 to -60oC.
